The first CNBLUE concert in Indonesia ‘BLUE STORM in Jakarta’ that was supposed to be held on Saturday, 26th November 2011, in JITEC Mangga Dua Square had to be cancelled. According to the Press Conference in Novotel Hotel this afternoon at 4 p.m., attended by sponsors and media, the concert is cancelled because the organizer did not reach the targeted ticket sales. The agreement for the ticket sales according to the contract with FNC Music, CNBLUE‘s management company, is 80%. But, until the press conference was held, only 60% of the tickets had been sold.

This cancellation is too sudden. FNC Music had just sent the ‘cancellation letter’ to the promoter, Starlight Management, in the morning, followed by the official announcement in CNBLUE website, cnblue.co.kr. “We were shocked when we heard this news. Because yesterday we were still negotiating with the representative of FNC in Jakarta. Last night they went back to Korea and said that they wanted to discuss this with FNC in Korea. We were hoping this concert would still going to happen, but unfortunately we received the bad news in this morning.” said Poppy Deviana, the Project Director of Starlight Management with teary eyes.

As we all know, the original venue for this concert was Skenoo Hall Gandaria City. However, three weeks before the concert, FNC asked the promoter to change to the bigger venue, and JITEC Mangga Dua Square was chosen. Since the change of the venue, Starlight Management increased their promotion in order to reach that 80% target ticket sales. They even did the promotion to various places, and also ‘buy 1 get 1’ promotion for students. They did this because they still want the concert to happen.
Starlight Management said that they are very sorry and apologize to all fans, media partners, and all the sponsors. “We are very sorry and apologize to all that have been at loss, morally and materially, especially to the fans, media partners, and sponsorship partners. We didn’t think that the concert would be cancelled. We already did our best to make the concert happen.” said Poppy. She also added that she will ask FNC to make an official apology statement (maybe in video) from CNBLUE for their fans.
The method for the ticket refund will be announced next Monday or Tuesday. “This week, we plan to finish the concert production payment first (stage, displays et cetera). We plan to do the refund one category at a time, based on the ticket class,” said Poppy.
